Cyrus Leonard Rose

President & Chief Executive Officer / Trustee

Cyrus Rose is President and Chief Executive Officer of Rise and Shine Worship Ministries & Charitable Trust, and Good Shepherd Food Bank “We can beat hunger together for the Poor. He establishes The Rise and Shine Charitable Trust, Worship Ministries and Food Bank for the Poor to beat hunger in 2019 and was appointed Executive President. In that role, he oversaw many aspects of management for the organization, focusing on organizational development and strategy. Cyrus served previously in executive roles in Operations and business development in GIS industry. His understanding of how to shape company cultures in a global context has enabled organizations to scale for growth. His focus is on clear strategic direction, efficiency, and driving organizational effectiveness, while guiding organizations during periods of significant change. In addition to his 18 plus years in the corporate world, Cyrus served on the Board and as Chairman of the Board for the non-profit Rise and Shine Worship Ministries – New Zealand & Charitable Trust on going six projects, and as a Corporate Sponsor Liaison with Best Buddies International. Cyrus first saw the work of Food that we can beat hunger together for the Poor on a mission in 2019 and realized that he could align his passion to help our hungry whanau scale for growth with helping donors who care so passionately to help those less fortunate make a real difference in the world. Cyrus was born and raised in Pakistan. He received a Master of Urban Town Planning degree in Science Pakistan and has a Certification in Organizational Development and Fundraising. Cyrus is currently working on a degree Certificate in Accountancy from Uni Tech University Auckland. He lives in Auckland with his wife, Monica Rose, who was born and raised in Pakistan. They have beautiful three daughters.

Monica Rose

EVP & Chief Development Officer / Trustee

Monica Rose is Executive Vice President and Chief Development Officer of Rise and Shine Charitable Trust. Monica leads the Major Gifts, Donor Relations, Foundations, Planned to Give, Business Development and Special Events departments. Monica joined the organization in January 2019 to establish the Major Giving Department. As the Vice President of Major Giving, she developed the strategy, plans, and staff necessary to build and strengthen partner relationships nationally and internationally. Much of Monica’s 20-year Travel Consultant and non-profit fundraising career has been focused on Major Gift development, Capital Campaigns, Planned to Give, Special Events, and non-profit program development. She has held executive leadership positions and consulted and coordinate with national, and international organizations. With a heart for the poor and underserved, Monica is committed to connecting those who have been blessed materially with opportunities to invest in the lives of others in a way that provides impactful outcomes for both. Monica holds the Certified Fund-Raising Executive (CFRE) designation and a certificate in Planned to Give from the Planned Giving by the Rise and Shine Institute. She attended Uni Tech University Auckland and the University of Punjab Pakistan earning a master’s degree in literature. She is married to Cyrus Rose, has three daughters, and is an active supporter of several non-profits in Auckland.

Nauman Surfraz

EVP & Chief Outcomes Officer / Trustee

Nauman Surfraz is Executive Vice President and Chief Outcomes Officer of we can beat Hunger Together for The Poor, he works in Food Industry as a quality control Internationally and now he is serving the Liven Council. in the food industry and has over 20 years’ experience of landing complex projects through to delivery. a role he was promoted to after serving as Controller. Nauman has worked in various roles for the charity. As Chief Outcomes Officer, Nauman leads a newly created department responsible for evaluating all aspects of the organization’s performance including fundraising and program activities. Donor Services, Performance/Data Analytics; and Monitoring and Evaluation all report to him. Additionally, Nauman serves as the chief innovator for the development and improvement of systems and processes to enhance the efficiency of the organization. Nauman’s history, experience and deep understanding of the core mission and vision of the organization and of the non-profit industry are key assets to help evaluate the organization to do what it intends to do. Nauman was born in Pakistan and raised and for few years work in Middle East. He done PHD in food. He lives in Liven, New Zealand with his wife, and their three children.

Donna

Aioo Donna Tavita

EVP & Chief Operating Officer / Trustee

Donna is EVP & Chief Operating Officer. In this role, she provides strategic leadership for the efficiency, effectiveness, and continued growth of the organization’s major operations. she has more than 10 years of experience in charity and international development, primarily in the Auckland New Zealand. Donna also served in Health Care worker leading the department responsible for the procurement and transportation of donated goods. She has managed a network of national partnerships across the Auckland served, as wells as a network of NGOs and corporate donors. In his new role, Donna will lead Shipping, Purchasing, Gifts in Kind, Projects, We can beat Hunger Together, Missions, Government Programs and Strategic Partnerships. To better serve the poor, Donna and her teams will focus on designing sustainable solutions, in addition to organizing relief actions. Donna is a Samoans-born Country in pacific ocean citizen and graduate of Auckland, where She received a Bachelor degree. She lives in South Auckland with hes family. Donna is bilingual in English and Samoan.

Asofa Afiafi Gafo’i

EVP & General Counsel

Asofa Afiafi Gafo’i- is General Counsel and Trustee of Good Shepherd Food Bank. She joined the charity in 2021 and is responsible for the organization’s internal operational matters. Since 2011, Asofa has been an associate at kindergarten, in Auckland. She began her career as a teacher and has gone on to practice in multiple areas of expertise. Asofa lives in West Auckland with her husband, and they have two children.
